There's a brand new utility for Netrek called 'Netrek Game On!'. It checks the metaservers and lets you know how many players are on line. It's in Java and should run on Windows, Linux, or Macintosh. Under Windows, you can iconize it to the task bar and keep an eye on when to play. Grab the latest version from the files section.

Paramount Digital Entertainment and TransGaming have announced the immediate availability of Star Trek: D-A-C for Mac OS X. The downloadable, fast-paced, top-down space shooter allows up to 12 players to compete in intergalactic battles between the Starfleet and the Romulan Empire, and costs just $9.95. An Intel Mac is required to enjoy the game, as well as Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or higher.
